Rafiah Al-Talei

Senior Producer

Rafiah is one of Oman's most accomplished journalists, with more than 20 years experience in local and international media organizations.

She focuses on civil rights, women's issues and political developments in the Gulf, and ran for parliament in Oman's 2003 elections.

Prior to joining in Al Jazeera, she was the Chief Editor of a bilingual women's magazine in Muscat, Al-Marah (The Woman). She has also worked for Sky News Arabia in Abu Dhabi, and as a producer and reporter for the US-based Al-Hurra TV. Rafiah worked with Freedom House as a researcher on women's issues, and as a writer for the Carnegie Endowment's Arab Reform Bulletin.

Rafiah holds a Master's degree in Arabic Literature and a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Journalism.
