Al Jazeera to bring together Leading Technology and Broadcast industry leaders to Doha
“Future of Media – Leaders’ Summit” will be a dedicated two day event in Doha, bringing together Chief Technology Officers and technology industry leaders to deliberate the impact of broadcast technological advancement and digital transformation in the media industry. The Summit is scheduled to take place on the 10th – 11th May 2017 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha.
The first of its kind within the MENA region; the “Future of Media – Leaders’ Summit” shall create a platform for industry experts to present innovative solutions, as well as discuss the advancement in broadcast technology and its aligned impact on the future of news broadcast. Experts will also aim to highlight the industry’s digital transformation, cloud technology, cyber security, and other solutions aimed towards the media industry in its transition towards the future.
Al Jazeera’s Mohamed Abuagla, Executive Director of Technology & Network Operations, stated that “technological advancement and its continuous innovation has become one of the biggest factors impacting media landscape; from newsgathering, filed reporting, and operations within newsrooms to new broadcast mediums. These innovations and advancements continue to revolutionize the way the media industry operates and how it reaches its global audiences.” He further acknowledged the importance and need of working closer with technology companies in rolling-out the media landscapes’ next phase.”
The Summit is organized by Al Jazeera Media Network in conjunction with sponsors from leading broadcast technology providers; Microsoft, CISCO, AVID, Tech Mahindra, Commvault, SAP, Smart Global and Qatar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications.
