For the second consecutive year, Al Jazeera Media Network has won the ‘Best Website’ award at the annual Online Media Awards ceremony held in London, along with five other awards and four commendations. The awards hosted on Thursday evening 1 june 2017 by The Drum were judged by a panel of journalists, PR professionals and media personalities.

AJ+ was announced the winner of Best News & Information Category, during the 21st Annual Webby Awards ceremony held in New York on Tuesday 16 May2017 . The Webby Awards - presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences - is the leading international award honoring excellence on the internet.

AJA’s correspondent in Yemen Hadeel al-Yamani won the International Women’s Media Foundation’s Courage in Journalism Award for 2017.

The Spanish Journalists Union honoured Al Jazeera's Abdullah Al-Shami on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day. The union granted him the Freedom of Expression award during a gala dinner held in Valencia, Spain, on Wednesday May 3.

Al Jazeera Arabic Channel’s website – Al Jazeera Net – is ranked 6th news source among the most powerful news sources in the world, according to 4 International Media & Newspapers institution (www.4imn.com). The ordered list of the world news agencies comprised the top 106 news agencies in the world.

Al Jazeera Media Network has obtained ISO certification in the field of Information Systems and Security. This certification is one of the most prestigious in the world in the field of information security management, and is audited against the International Standards Organization (ISO) 27001:2013 standard.

Dena Takruri, Senior Presenter at AJ+, was awarded the Professional Excellence Award by the Network of Arab-American Professional (NAAP).

Al Jazeera English’s senior correspondent and diplomatic editor James Bay and senior producer Whitney Hurst have been awarded the United Nations’ Ricardo Ortega Memorial Prize for their role in covering the first internationally televised live UN leaders’ debate titled “Leading the United Nations: A Global Town Hall with UN Secretary-General Candidates".

Iman Ayad, anchorwoman of Al Jazeera Arabic, won the Arab Women award for 2016 in television presentation catefory, at a ceremony held in London. Being a cancer survivor herself, Iman dedicated the award to all the women struggling with cancer.

Hasan Bajramović, a 3D artist who works at the Al Jazeera Balkans Creative Department, and in his free time creates characters for video games in Hollywood production movies, is announced as one of the 100 most influential 3D artists in the world, according to professional magazine 3DArtist.

The Investigative Unit of Al Jazeera Media Network has won the 2016 Broadcast Award at the Frontline Club in London.The investigation that exposed the inner workings of Myanmar’s military regime, “Genocide Agenda”, provided strong evidence that the crime of genocide was being committed against the Rohingya minority in the west of the country.

Al Jazeera Documentary Channel’s “Blood on the Seine” won the Jury Award in the medium-length category, in the Annaba Film Festival held in Algeria.

The film titled "Kumar", directed by Ms. Eman Al-Amri, was awarded the Grand Prize of the 7th edition of Khouribga International Documentary Film Festival in Morocco.

Al Jazeera English has won 3 awards from the Native American Journalists Association (NAJA), in recognition of their coverage of the following stories: “A Toxic Spill in the Colorado River”, “Oil Exploration and Land Loss in Louisianan​” as well as “Food Sovereignty in the Passamaquoddy Tribe in Maine”.

Al Jazeera Balkans journalist Snježana Mulić-Softić won journalism award "Srđan Aleksić", which was established in 2010 by a non-governmental organisation. Snježana was nominated by the Association "Words of Peace".
