 Al Jazeera Digital’s news and current affairs podcast, The Take, won top prize in its category in the 2021 Online Journalism (OJA) Awards. The full roster of winners​ was announced online and during an annual conference hosted by OJA parent group, the Online News Association, in Philadelphia on October 16. 

Drowning Letters​, a documentary co-produced by Al Jazeera Documentary channel, received the grand award at the Figra film festival in France in the category of different perspective.

Al Jazeera English (AJE) was named ‘Broadcaster of the Year’ at the 2021 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards for the fifth consecutive year.
The channel collected an impressive array of gold, silver and bronze medals for its programmes and news coverage.

Al Jazeera's Investigative Journalism Unit has won the Best Long Investigative and Best Audio prizes at the DIG for its Investigative, All the Prime Minister's Men.

Al Jazeera’s "About Cinema" programme won a gold award at the Venice TV Award in the "Best of Technology and Innovation" category for the “Star Wars” episode. The programme also qualified to compete in the “Best TV Series” and “Light Entertainment” categories.

Al Jazeera Documentary Channel co-produced the documentary “Their Algeria” directed by Lina Soualem, won the Black Iris Award in the category Best Arab Feature Documentary, in the second edition of the Amman International Film Festival.

The "Afghanistan: The Wounded Earth" series, co-produced and edited by Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, won the Grimme Prize for 2021​, awarded annually by the Grimme Institute for Research & Education for Best International Documentary Productions.

The film "Brotherhood", co-produced by Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, won first prize in the category “Concorso Cineasti del presente" at the 74th edition of the Locarno Film Festival.

Al Jazeera Media Network has been recognised with a platinum award by dotCOMM Awards for its campaign to release Mahmoud Hussein, a journalist at Al Jazeera Channel. Hussein was arrested by the Egyptian authorities on December 23rd 2016 and held in detention for more than four years without formal charges or trial.

The series "Afghanistan: The Wounded Land", co-produced by Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, won the Jane Mercer Footage Researcher of the Year Award 2021, which international documentary productions compete over, awarded annually by FOCAL International Association.

Al Jazeera Documentary channel’s film, Bride Dress, by Palestinian director Marwa Jabbara Tibi was awarded Best Feature Documentary at the 9th International Festival of Human Rights Documents held in Rabat from June 25th to 27th, under the theme: Cinema is our common language.

The Capital Emmy Awards Gala has named AJ+ film "Meet the black southerners confronting their racist town" as the 2021 Capital Emmy Awards Societal Concerns News category winners.
