Al Jazeera English ‘Broadcaster of the Year’ at NYF

Al Jazeera English was named “Broadcaster of the Year” for the second year running at the 2018 New York Festivals International Television & Film Gala that took place in Las Vegas on April 10th, 2018. This award is considered the most prestigious by the organizers. Overall, Al Jazeera Media Network was honored with more than 40 prizes
Al Jazeera among most viewed digital publishers

Al Jazeera was named one of the Most Viewed Media Companies for the second year in a row by Tubular Labs, a company that tracks all video content cross-platform, all-device, globally. Al Jazeera was ranked 30th, out of 10 million content creators and over 40,000 media and entertainment publishers globally tracked in 2017.

Kyrgyzstan awards AJA “Best Foreign Coverage” prize

Our AJA colleague Tarek Al Abyad, Producer at AJA newsroom, was awarded the “Best TV coverage on Kyrgyzstan” in 2017, for his documentary series “Kyrgyzstan the Wonderland”, which he produced and directed when he was in a mission to Kyrgyzstan to cover the World Nomadic Games. The series was aired on Al Jazeera Arabic channel in April 2017.

Al Jazeera Documentary Channel’s "A Memory in Khaki" won the Best Direction Award for long documentaries at the Malmo Arab Film Festival held in Sweden between October 7 - 9, 2017. The film was directed by Alfoz Tanjour. The film was also awarded Best Documentary Film in Bamaghata Film Festival in Japan on October 12.
