Al Jazeera Media Network's Creative directorate has won three prizes at NewscastStudio’s Broadcast Productions Awards. The Network’s creative directorate competed with more than 200 creative content-makers from many internationally-renowned channels and institutions.
Al Jazeera won two awards in the “Channel ID and Branding” category. The first was awarded to Al Hassad in recognition of the show’s new branding and format development that included the modern and dynamic designs of its segments and news graphics. In the same category, the Network also won second award for the branding of Al Jazeera Documentary Channel.
The third award, in the category “Topical Story”, was for an Al Jazeera News Channel news report presented by Mahmoud Al-Ken, explaining the ways the COVID-19 virus can transmit from one person to another and the role of lockdowns and social distancing policies in combatting the spread of the pandemic. The news report featured elements of augmented reality and 3D drawings.
The jury awarded the Network two certificates of appreciation for two other reports from Al Jazeera News Channel. One certificate for the use of interactive and augmented reality graphics in the reporting of the recent U.S. presidential election and the second certificate for a news report produced using augmented reality.

The Broadcast Production Awards are awarded annually to honor the most prominent work related to creativity, visual and musical design in the media industry. Categories cover news television programmes, sports and entertainment and include creative productions in studio design, branding, virtual and augmented content, among others.
