Al Jazeera condemns the Israeli occupation army’s deliberate killing of its cameraman in Gaza, Ahmed Wishah

Al Jazeera Media Network condemns the deliberate killing of its Al Jazeera Mubasher Channel’s cameraman Ahmed Wishah by Israeli occupation forces today, Saturday 20 June, in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a house in the Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

This heinous crime comes only two months after Israeli forces killed his brother and colleague Mohammed Wishah, a correspondent for Al Jazeera Mubasher. Ahmed is the 12th Al Jazeera martyr in Gaza since October 2023.

The Network denounces the continuation of these crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against its correspondents and staff in Gaza, and renews its call on the international community and legal institutions to take urgent, practical measures to hold the Israeli officials involved in these appalling crimes accountable, and to adopt deterrent mechanisms to end the targeting of journalists.

Al Jazeera affirms its determination to take every available legal measure to prosecute the perpetrators of these crimes, while committing to continue covering events in the Gaza Strip despite the occupation army’s attempts to silence the voice of truth and its ongoing targeting of the journalists and cameramen working with Al Jazeera.
