Al Jazeera English Channel (AJE) celebrated its 11th anniversary on Thursday, November 15, 2017, in the AJE newsroom. A number of the network's officials and employees joined AJE's staff as they celebrated.

Giles Trendle, AJE Managing Director, addressed the crowd saying the channel had always been inside a story since its launch 11 years ago. He praised the staff's assets and commitment which contributed to the channel's success. Trendle commended all the staff of the channel in Doha, the broadcasting hubs and the bureaus around the world.

The award-winning AJE has been able to compete and surpass many international news channels despite its young age. It collected last year only more than 40 international awards among which was the "Broadcaster of the Year" in New York Festival, in addition to dozens of wins and nominations for Emmy's, Peabody and many other international awards.
