Al Jazeera sponsors Qatar International Debate Championship

Al Jazeera Media Network is sponsoring the 4th International Schools Arabic Debating Championship, organized by QatarDebate, a member of Qatar Foundation. The event will be conducted from 7th-11th April, 2018.

In his speech, during the press conference held to announce the start date of the championship, Mohammed Saad Al-Rumaihi said said that Al Jazeera Network is keen to support activities and events that foster the youths’ public speaking skills, and aim to strengthen and spread the debating and critical thinking culture.

Al-Rumaihi pointed out the special presence of Al Jazeera Media Network in the event, marked with specialized workshops by Al Jazeera Media Institute and AlJazeera.Net, in addition to the coverage of the competition by Al Jazeera Mubasher, Al Jazeera Arabic Channels, and AJ+ platform.

Competitors from 50 countries will participate in the competition, a number of which are first-timers such as Russia, Spain, Thailand, Serbia, Albania, Poland, and Kyrgyzstan.
