Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani is the Deputy Managing Director of Al Jazeera English.
He joined Al Jazeera Media Network in 2013, starting at Al Jazeera English on the news desk as a Deputy News Editor before becoming Executive Producer for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region in 2017.
In his capacity as Deputy Managing Director of the global news outlet, he will continue to provide editorial oversight and strategic direction. He will also lead the business engagement relationship with the channel’s support functions.
Sheikh Abdulla holds a degree in media and communications from Goldsmiths, University of London and a master’s degree in international studies and diplomacy from The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
