Mohammed Al Hamadi was appointed in September 2025 as the director of programmes for Al Jazeera English Channel. His role includes guiding the conceptualisation, development and implementation of the channel’s programming content for global audiences.
Prior to that, Mohammed worked as the channel's manager of documentaries, while simultaneously serving as acting director of business affairs for Al Jazeera Media Network.
He joined the Network in March 2019 as the head of programme productions for Al Jazeera Arabic Channel. He has vast experience in the film production industry in Qatar, as he is skilled in managing both the practical and creative facets of any production process.
Mohammed also spent 12 years in the country’s oil and gas sector, acquiring strategic and practical problem-solving business capabilities, along with auditing, communication and networking skills.
He obtained a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tulsa in the United States in 2006 and a master’s degree in digital humanities and societies from Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar in 2020.
Mohammed is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in humanities and social sciences.
