Al Jazeera Media Network and Cisco have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), demonstrating a desire from the two industry-leading organizations with a large global footprint to collaborate on leveraging emerging technology solutions - tackling media industry challenges.

The aim of this strategic relationship is to radically improve the ability to deliver high-quality content to audiences, advance organizational collaboration globally and achieve significant productivity gains through investments in digitization. This will be made possible by leveraging opportunities provided by emerging technologies such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6, artificial intelligence and automation.

Commenting on signing of MoU, Ahmed Marzouq AlFahad, the Executive Director of Technology and Network Operations at Al Jazeera Media Network stated, “We are delighted to be able to announce this strategic relationship with Cisco. The opportunities that Cisco brings to the table regarding emerging technologies will significantly improve the ability for our journalists around the world to collaborate, produce, and deliver high quality content that helps Al Jazeera achieve its mission of telling the stories that need to be told.”

Shukri Eid, Managing Director, Cisco Gulf Region added, “This new venture represents our longstanding relationship with Al Jazeera Media Network. The shift to next-generation networks has provided significantly greater access to both live and on-demand news coverage, from a multitude of devices, and in different formats. Al Jazeera Media Network has a clear understanding of the importance of technologies such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6, artificial intelligence, network security and automation in enhancing digital transformation, improving processes and delivering news to a global audience round the clock.”
