Al Jazeera Media Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Qatari Red Crescent (QRCS). This MOU aims to boast the cooperation between the two organisations and to hold specialised training for the journalists on safety and security in the war zones and areas of conflict.

Dr. Mostefa Souag, acting Director General, signed for Al Jazeera Media Network, while Dr. Mohamed Al-Maadeed, CEO of QRCS, signed for his organisations.

Dr. Souag commented on signing the MOU and said: “We are pleased with the distinguished relationship between Al Jazeera and the Qatari Red Crescent which has been established a few years ago. It is delightful to enhance and boast this relationship through renewing this MOU.”

Dr. Hassan Al Mugammer, Head of Research at AJ Public Liberties and Human Rights Centre, said that Al Jazeera has implemented 13 workshops on safety and security which benefited more than 500 journalists and correspondents. In addition, the centre is in the process of preparing special documentaries about the projects and activities of the QRCS in the fields.
