Bureau chief of Al Jazeera office in Türkiye, Abdulazim holds a master's degree in Arabic language and literature. He joined the Network in 2003 as a correspondent from Iraq, and moved to the channel's headquarters in Doha after the closure of the Baghdad bureau in 2004.
After the Libyan revolution, he served as Al Jazeera's bureau chief in Tripoli from 2011 to 2014, before taking on his current role in April 2014.
