Al Jazeera Condemns the Killing of Anas Al-Sharif’s Father by Israeli Forces
Al Jazeera Media Network denounces the bombing of Anas Al-Sharif’s house, Al Jazeera Arabic’s channel Gaza journalist, in Jabalya which resulted in the death of his father.
The Network expresses its deepest condolences to our colleague Anas and his family. Al Jazeera urges the international community and humanitarian organisations to urgently intervene and halt the Israeli occupation forces' brutal targeting of both journalists and civilians in the Gaza Strip.
This comes after a series of threats received by Anas last November in an attempt to deter him from carrying out his duty, as a continuation of targeting the families of the Network’s correspondents and of those working with Al Jazeera in Gaza to conceal the truth and the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces.
The Network stresses it will take the necessary legal measures to hold the perpetrators accountable for these crimes.
