The Al Jazeera Media Network has won a silver award in the category of Best TV Programme Branding for its Al Jazeera English programme “In Search of Putin’s Russia” at the BassAwards ceremony held last night.

Commenting on the win, Ramzan Alnoimi, Al Jazeera’s Director of Network Creative, said, “We are tremendously proud of this achievement. Despite the tough competition faced, we were able to shine and differentiate ourselves by sticking to Al Jazeera’s values and high standards, and we look forward to continuing our journey of success in the future.”

“The series In Search Of Putin’s Russia successfully explores the complexities and subtleties as seen through the eyes of Russians. A challenge when one considers the size and diversity of the country. The opening animation not only reflects the series but adds to the tone and texture of all four episodes,” said Farid Barsoum, Executive Producer of Documentaries.

BASSAWARDS is the awards program that rewards the high-level and the best design around the world, from film to television. The visual design becomes a competitive advantage within the industry, improving products and making them more profitable. Whether in film or television identities, creativity and visual design convey ideas, philosophies and histories that help improve a product.

Al Jazeera strives to deliver content that captivates, informs, inspires and entertains.

Launched in 1996, Al Jazeera was the first independent news channel in the Arab world dedicated to providing comprehensive news and live debate. It challenged established narratives and gave a global audience an alternative voice—one that put the human being back at the centre of the news agenda—quickly making it one of the world’s most influential news networks.

Since then, it’s added new channels and services, with more than 70 bureaus around the world, while maintaining the independent and pioneering spirit that defined its character.

Each subsidiary follows the same principles—values that inspire it to be challenging and bold, and provide a ‘voice for the voiceless’ in some of the most underreported places on the planet.
