Ahmed Mahfouz is the Managing Director of Al Jazeera Documentary Channel. Prior to that, he had worked as an assistant director and film director with various Egyptian and foreign production companies. In 2003, he worked at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and was appointed as the head of cinema and video technology at the Art Creativity Centre in Cairo for three years. In December 2005, he was appointed as a documentary filmmaker at Al Jazeera Media Network.
Ahmed has garnered a breadth of experience within audio-visual production, ranging from commercials and documentaries to cinema and television drama series.
Ahmed has also participated in distinguished international cinema festivals as a member and head of the arbitration committee. He has been honoured at several renowned international documentary film production festivals.
