Elsy Abi Assi is a principal presenter at Al Jazeera Channel (Arabic), who presents news bulletins as well as the programme “Behind the News”. For more than seventeen years at the Network, Elsy has presented from the studio and from the field as a correspondent in Beirut and a number of world capitals to cover important events.
Among the most notable coverage Elsy has worked on are the tragedy of Syrian asylum in Lebanon during the 2011-2012 crisis, Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014, the 2016 U.S. presidential election, and the fallout from London Brexit in 2018. She also has experience working as a producer of news and political programmes, where she has presented a series of episodes of the programme "Private Visit".
