AJ+ was announced the winner of Best News & Information Category, during the 21st Annual Webby Awards ceremony held in New York on Tuesday May 16. A large number of celebrities and most noteworthy innovators, entertainers, and visionaries that have harnessed the web as a means of promoting their art, raising awareness, or otherwise instigating change, attended the ceremony.

By winning this award - judged by a high profile specialized committee - AJ+ has positioned itself ahead of other well-established and experienced international media organizations that have been in the business for many years.

Dima Khatib, Managing Director of AJ+, expressed her excitement for winning the Webby for the second year in a row in the News and Information category. She pointed out that this winning only undersigns the strong presence and weight of AJ+. Dima mentioned that AJ+ has been keen to produce the content in a fashion tailored to each social media site. Dima gladly also said that AJ+ has become a major reference in the digital media industry.

AJ+ picked up two People’s Voice awards at Webby Awards last year for its coverage of the Syrian refugee crises after obtaining more than a million votes.

The Webby Awards - presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences - is the leading international award honoring excellence on the internet in six major media categories: Websites, Film & Video, Advertising, Media & PR, Social, Mobile Sites & Apps and Podcasts & Digital Audio.
