Al Jazeera celebrates its 21st anniversary

Al Jazeera Media Network celebrated its 21st anniversary on Wednesday, November 1st, under the slogan of Everlasting Sunrise. The ceremony was attended by the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and a number of officials and guests.

Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, Chairman of the board of Al Jazeera Media Network appreciated the continuous support provided by Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, which was reinforced during his interview with the American news channel, CBS.

He also said that Al Jazeera will not deviate from its objectives of providing the best content with the highest standard in all platforms. He emphasized that people will remain the main focus of the network’s interest.

He pointed out that Al Jazeera will launch soon digital broadcasting platforms for mobile phones in international languages, including French; and will launch news service in Chinese and Indonesian languages.

Dr. Mostefa Souag, Al Jazeera Acting Director Manager, said, in his speech, Al Jazeera “is celebrating 21 years of devotion and sacrifices on the course of revealing the truth and standing by people.” He emphasized that the attempts to smear Al Jazeera is only simply a continuation of an ongoing ones that started since the launch of Al Jazeera.

He stressed that the smear campaigns against Al Jazeera are nothing but “a definitive proof that Al Jazeera has been on the right track of supporting people, standing by the truth, and exposing falsifications and misrepresentation.”
