Bureau chief of Al Jazeera in Sudan, El Musalmi holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and media from Omdurman University.
He worked as an editor in numerous Sudanese newspapers and magazines, then as a researcher at the Center for Strategic Studies in Khartoum, before managing political programmes on Sudanese television.
He joined Al Jazeera as a news producer in 2004. He was then appointed Al Jazeera's bureau chief in Sudan in 2006. He participated in covering many important events and conferences in Sudan.
