Cara Legg is a British journalist with extensive experience in covering international news, with a special interest in climate and environmental issues. Cara was born in South Africa and raised in Botswana. She started her career at Sky News in London after completing her journalism degree in the UK.
She has worked for BBC News, ITV and the Associated Press. She moved to Qatar to join Al Jazeera after gaining a master’s degree in International Politics and Relations in Rome. She was part of the Al Jazeera team that won the prestigious 2021 Royal Television Society award for the breaking news coverage of the Beirut port explosion.
Cara also produced the first series of “Planet SOS”, Al Jazeera's flagship environmental programme, before joining the weather department as a presenter.
