Faisal Al Kasim entered the field of media from the academic path. He was previously an academic, and holds a doctorate in English Literature from the University of Hull in Britain.
He began his media career at the BBC, where he worked for years at radio, first as an editor, producer and presenter of the most important political programmes and a variety of other programmes. Then in BBC Arabic Channel, until he moved to Al Jazeera from its inception as a news presenter. He started presenting for the programme “The Opposite Direction”, of which he continues to present today.
He publishes articles weekly in Arab and international newspapers and is also a trainer at the Al Jazeera Media Institute.
