Jalal Chahda is a Lebanese journalist who joined Al Jazeera in 2011 as a principal presenter. He presents news bulletins, discussion shows and a programme named “Beyond the News”.
Over the years, he was assigned major field coverage in conflict and war areas, including in Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq and Libya.
Jalal also covered events like the U.S. and Turkish presidential elections, and live coverage from Washington during the storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters.
On the programme titled “Without Borders” and other news discussion programmes, he interviewed prominent regional and international figures.
He started his media career at the Lebanese LBC channel in 2002, and then moved to MBC.
He holds a bachelor's degree in physical education, and worked as a teacher in a number of schools in northern Lebanon before entering the field of media.
