Zein Elabadin Tawfik joined Al Jazeera Media Network in August 2012 as a presenter for Al Jazeera Mubasher and Al Jazeera Mubasher Misr (Egypt), then moved to Al Jazeera Channel in 2015 as a lead presenter for various programmes including, "The Observatory", "Behind the News", "Hadith al-Thawra", "The Arab Reality" and others.
He participated in field coverage from Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. Highlights of his coverage included the assassination of colleague Shireen Abu Akleh, the massacre of two mosques in New Zealand, the bombing of churches in Sri Lanka, and the war to liberate Mosul.
Zein is also a certified trainer at Al Jazeera Media Institute and offers many courses related to the media, television presenting, news, and dialogue.
