Imran Khan joined Al Jazeera English in 2005 as a correspondent and member of the channel’s launch team. Over the course of his career, he has reported extensively from across Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Libya, Ukraine and Syria, progressing from correspondent to senior correspondent.
In June 2025, he moved to the presenter’s desk in Doha, where he now presents news and current affairs programmes as a senior presenter.
Imran began his journalism career in 2001 with “BBC Newsnight”, one of Britain’s leading current affairs programmes. In 2002, Channel 4 commissioned the award-winning film “The Hidden Jihad”, which he wrote and presented.
He is also a novelist. His debut novel, “In Truth, Madness”, was published in 2018, and his forthcoming novel, “Elisar, Queen of Carthage”, is currently in development.
