Gemma has been working as a sports presenter on Al Jazeera English since 2020, covering major events such as football’s European Championship and the Tokyo Olympics. She spent the previous decade at Sky Sports in the UK, where she began her career as a production assistant. During her time there, Gemma specialised in producing golf content for Sky Sports News before working her way up to writing and presenting sports bulletins on Sky News. Gemma would anchor a half-hour show on the channel every Saturday and Sunday, rounding up the best of the weekend’s sport from around the world.
She graduated from Brighton University in 2008 with a first- class degree in sports journalism and additional qualifications in media law, public administration and news writing from the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
