Al Jazeera Media Network won the highest number of gold awards at the 47th edition of the Telly Awards this year, outperforming all competitors.

The organisers of the Telly Awards — regarded as one of the world’s leading media awards — announced the winners of the competition on 19 May 2026. This year’s edition featured nearly 14,000 entries from 55 countries.

Al Jazeera English received 12 gold awards, most of them for investigative reports and programmes produced by the channel on Palestine, India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, in addition to a documentary on the targeting of journalists.

The Digital Division of Al Jazeera Media Network won four gold awards for the programme Start Here, the True Crime Reports podcast, the On The Ground series, and the Decoloniza series by AJ+ Español.

In addition to the gold awards, Al Jazeera Media Network also won 47 silver awards and 27 bronze awards across various categories.

The Telly Awards have been presented annually since 1979 to honour outstanding media productions. Among the networks that participated in this year’s competition were Paramount, Discovery, Warner Bros., and National Geographic.

The Telly Awards judging panel includes more than 250 experts from major media and digital institutions, including Google, HBO, and Netflix.
