Darren Jordon is a senior news presenter at Al Jazeera English. He regularly presents the daily news bulletins along with “Counting the Cost” – Al Jazeera’s business and economics programme. He has interviewed the former Presidents of Iran and Pakistan, and the former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair. He has notably handled many big news stories including various Gaza Wars, President Trump’s visit to North Korea and the US mid-term elections.
Prior to joining Al Jazeera, Darren spent eight years at the BBC in London, and was one of the Corporation’s most recognised news anchors. He has presented all the main BBC news bulletins, as well as anchored for BBC News 24 and BBC World. He is best known for presenting the BBC’s One O’clock news, as well as the flagship 10 O’clock news. Darren also worked with the BBC World Service Trust, running overseas media training projects.
Darren grew up in the UK and Jamaica and was educated in the West Indies. He is also a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
