Al Jazeera English principal presenter, Adrian Finighan, has been a face of global news television for almost 30 years. He has interviewed countless politicians, newsmakers, and business leaders, and has covered global significant events ranging from the 9/11 and 7/7 Attacks (the 7 July 2005 London bombings), the Arab Spring Uprising and the Fall of Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak, to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At Al Jazeera English, he fronts all the Channel’s flagship programmes including “Newshour”, “Inside Story” and “Counting the Cost”. Prior to joining Al Jazeera in 2010, Adrian was an anchor/correspondent with CNN International, having spent the previous 18 years as a senior presenter with BBC World News and News 24, a producer and presenter with the BBC Business Programmes Unit, and as newsreader and presenter at BBC Radio 2.
Born and educated in Wales, Adrian began his career as a Radio journalist and producer with BBC Local, regional and then national radio. Away from journalism, his interests include photography, astronomy and travel.
