Nastasya Tay is a senior news presenter at Al Jazeera English, who’s reported from more than 25 countries across four continents.
Previously a senior international correspondent for SBS Australia, she also spent nearly a decade as a roving correspondent in Sub-Saharan Africa; covering conflict, resilience and political upheaval, across the region and beyond.
Her work has spanned broadcasters from NPR and PRI, to NBC, ITV and the BBC; She helped lead coverage at the Associated Press from Southern Africa for five years.
Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Nastasya studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford; and Politics and Southeast Asian Studies at London’s School of Oriental & African Studies.
She began her career in international development and policy - including postings with the UN’s International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, and in Aceh, Indonesia, assessing the aid rollout after the 2004 tsunami.
